guadalupe aldrete
Guadalupe Aldrete is a multidisciplinary artist based in Vienna. She attended a long training in the painting academy since her childhood. Later, parallel to studies in art conservation, she continued her own art practice which was certainly enriched by the knowledge in antique artist’s methods, classical iconography and Mexican and Roman archaeology.
Since 2009, parallel to her training as a visual artist she participated in several performance and body awareness workshops with internationally recognized artists. Most recently with Daria Halprin and Guillermo Gómez Peña. In 2018 she completed a master in "Art & Science" at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

Guadalupe's work has been presented internationally, including at the Infinite Present Festival in Ljubljana (2024), the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art MMSU in Rijeka (2018) and PCP at the Science Gallery London (2023). Examples of solo exhibitions include ‘chamber III. under the surface’ at WAM Museum (Vienna, 2024), ‘chamber II. reflecting river’ at Mz Balthasar Laboratory (Vienna, 2024) and ‘Un Pueblo’ at eindorf Kunstraum (Vienna, 2023). Aldrete was artist in residence at the Austrian Women's Museum Hittisau (2021) and at the Lushan Art Museum in Chengdu, China (2018). In 2023 she was the recipient of the viennese Tanzquartier’s TQW ‘Stipendium Körper- & Performancepraktiken’.
